What is grade 1 for a furcation
Bone is destroyed but probe cannot enter the space and you cannot see it only feel it with the probe
How many grades are there for furcation
1-4
Grade 1 being the least severe
Grade 4 being the most severe
What is grade 2 for a furcation
Bone is destroyed, probe gets into furcation but doesn’t come out the other side, cannot see it
What is grade 3 for furcation
Probe is able to get through furcation but not completely through, it is visible
What is grade 4 for furcation
Probe passes completely through furcation, clinically visible
What is a furcation
Furcations means bone loss at the branching point of the roots (the more bone loss and recession the more furcation there will be)
