Define on-the-job training and give a training method
A
On-the-job training is learning from existing employees’ current job how to perform a task/job more efficiently than before.
A training method would be apprenticeship, role modelling, coaching, and tutoring.

Advantages of on-the-job training
A
Employee is being trained specifically on their role and the specific tools they need to use.
Also a cost effective way to train as they don’t need to pay for an outside course.

Disadvantages of On the job training
A
- Bad habits can be passed on from trainer to the learner
- Too much information and cramming into 1 session can cause the learner not to learn as well and be less productive.
