MOCA (Minimum Obstacle Clearance Altitude)
Grid MORA (Minimum Off Route Altitude)
The maximum terrain or obstacle elevation, whichever is the higher, plus;
(i) 1000 feet for elevations up to and including 5000 feet, or
(ii) 2000 feet for elevations exceeding 5000 feet rounded up to the next 100 feet.
The lowest MOCA shall not be less than 2000 feet.
MOCA and MORA recommended temperature corrections
-16 to -30 at 10% to MORA and MOCA
Take-Off Alternate requirements
If weather precludes return to departure airfield.
Located 1 hour still air OEI flight time at actual TOM.
MET conditions at ETA must be above approach minima.
LVP
Private Ops - 150m (OMA 8.4.2)
Commercial - 400m (not approved LVP in Ops Specs)
Destination Alternate required unless:
- a) Destination has two separate runways
b) both have an operational straight-in instrument approach procedure and… - A reasonable certainty exists that the
approach and landing may be made under VMC
