OINA Flashcards
- Trapezius
Innervated by
Accessory n.
Trapezius Origin
Spine of the scapula
Trapezius Action
Elevates and adducts the forelimb
Trapezius Insertion
mid dorsal raphe of the neck and supraspinous ligament
Latissimus Dorsi Origin
thoracolumbar fascia
Latissimus Dorsi Insertion
Teres major tuberosity
Latissimus Dorsi Innervation
Thoracodorsal nerve C7 C8 T1
Latissimus Dorsi action
Antagonist to Brachiocephalicus m. Draw the forelimb caudally as if digging
Brachiocephalicus Insertion
media raphe of the neck and occipital bone. Ventral part attaces to the mastoid process
Brachiocephalicus Origin
Clavicle
Brachiocephalicus Innervation
Accessory n.
Brachiocephalicus Action
: advances the limb and extends the shoulder joint when the limb is in motion; draws the head and neck ventrally when the limb is fixed.
Omotransversarius Origin
transverse processes of the atlas
Omotransversarius Insertion
acromion and distal spine of the scapula
- Omotransversarius:
Innervated by A
Accessory n.
Omo Action
Advancing the limb
- Superficial Pectoral m.
Origin
first two sternebrae usually part of the third; the fibrous raphe between fellow muscles
- Superficial Pectoral m.
Insertion
Greater tubercle of the humerus
- Superficial Pectoral m.
Innervation
Cranial pectoral nerve C7 C8
- Superficial Pectoral m.
Action
abducts the forelimb when its not bearing weight
- Deep Pectoral m.
Origin:
Ventral part of the sternum
Deep pectoral insertion
Major poriton partly muscular, partly tendinous on humerus lesser tubercle; aponeurosis to greater tubercle and its crest; caudal part ot medialbrachial fascia
Deep pectoral innervation
Cranial Pectoral nerve C8 T1
Deep pectoral Action
Pull the trunk cranially and extend shoulder joint when limb is advanced and fixed; draw the limb caudally and flex the shoulder joint whenlimb is not supporting weight; to adduct the limb.
Serratus Ventralis Origin
Transverse part of the last 5 cervical vertebrae and 1st 7-8 ribs ventral to their middle dorsamedial third of the scapula
Serratus Ventralis Innervation
Ventral branches of cervical spinal nerves and the long thoracic nerves
Serratus Ventralis Insertion
Dorsomedial third of the scpaula
(serrated face)
Serratus Ventralis Action
Support the trunk and depress the scapula
Rhomboideus Origin
nuchal crest of occipital bone; median fibrous raphe of neck; spinous processes of first 7 thoracic vertebrae
Rhomboideus Insertion
dorsal border and adjacent surface of the scapula
Rhomboideus Innervation
ventral branches of the cervical vertebrae and thoracic spinal n.
Rhomboideus Action
Elevate the forelimb and draw the scapula against the trunk
Sternocephalicus Origin
First sternebra or manubrium
Sternocephalicus Insertion
mastoid part of he temporal bone and nuchal crest of the occipital lobe
Sternocephalicus Innervation
Ventral bracnches of the cervical n.
Sternocephalicus Action
to draw the head and neck to the side
