OFCCP Flashcards
What is OFCCP?
o OFCCP = The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs
o They ensure that companies who do business with the federal government have equal employment opportunities and engage in affirmative action for protected classes, such as women, minorities, veterans, and those with disabilities.
Why do we have to follow the rules of the OFCCP?
We are subject to the OFCCP because we are a Federal Contractor and a Subcontractor
How do we follow the rules of the OFCCP?
o By ensuring that all jobs are posted for a minimum of 5 days before closing them and using descriptive disposition codes.
o We also have an EEO tagline on all of our external postings.
o We post to state agencies.
Why do we post for 5 days before closing the req?
To attract a diverse pool of candidates to choose from and to remain within OFCCP compliance.
What are affirmative action requirements?
A plan set in place to ensure that OFCCP regulations are met.
What is the 1:1 selection ratio?
A 1:1 selection ratio is when the total number of hires matches the total number of applications or considered candidates. This is a non-compliance practice that should be avoided.
Provide example of a good faith effort
o An example of a good faith outreach is posting to the state agencies, Hire our Heroes Program, and well as attending Women in Trucking events and posting to their job boards.
o Attending job fairs.
o Good faith efforts must be documented.
How do we document good faith efforts?
There is a good faith outreach tracking sheet.
Why is it important to document each good faith outreach?
o It is important that they are documented in order to provide proof of compliance to the OFCCP during an audit and to prevent legal risks.
o It is also important so that we can track if an effort was effective or worth doing again in the future.
