if it is there for some time it expands and causes bone distortion

3 hypothesis of how the dentigerous cyst arises form the reduced enamel epithelium?
1) increased venous pressure around the enamel epithelium causes influx of fluid between the tooth and the reduced enamel epithelium

- proliferation of outer layers of reduced enamel epithelium
- breakdown of central cells within epithelium
