China
A
- 30º Right
- 5 NM
- Established on offset
- Climb or descend to new level
- When appropriate, return to original track

- 16.2 NM
- Established on offset
- Climb or descend to new level
- When appropriate, return to original track
5
Q
Initial Turn (min), Offset (NM), and Unable to Maintain Altitude
NAT (including WATRS)
A
- 30º Right or Left
- 5 NM
- Minimize rate of descent until established on offset
- If unable an ATC clearance, level at appropriate FL ±500 feet below FL290
6
Q
Initial Turn (min), Offset (NM), and Unable to Maintain Altitude
Other (ICAO)
A
- 45º Right or Left
- 15 NM
- Minimize rate of descent until after crossing 10 NM
- If unable an ATC clearance, level at appropriate FL ±500 feet below FL290

Q
Initial Turn (min), Offset (NM), and Unable to Maintain Altitude
Russia
A
- 30º normally Right
- 16.2 NM
- Minimize descent until established on offset
- If unable an ATC clearance, level at appropriate FL ±500 feet below FL290
- When appropriate, return to original track
9
Q
Weather avoidance if unable to get an ATC clearance
A
- If possible, deviate away from organized track or route system
- Broadcast at suitable intervals on 121.5 and 123.45
(a) flight ident
(b) flight level
(c) aircraft position including track code or ATS designator
(d) Intentions including expected extent of deviation - Watch and avoid conflicting traffic visually and TCAS
- Turn on aircraft exterior lights
- Remain at the level assigned by ATC for
- Climb or descend for deviations greater than 5 NM (NAT and WATRS) or 10 NM (Other OCA)
(a) Eastbound: Left (-300 ft) and Right (+300 ft)
(b) Westbound: Left (+300 ft) and Right (-300 ft) - When returning to track, be at assigned level by 5 NM or 10 NM respectively.
- Keep attempting ATC contact and clearance
- File an ASR if no ATC clearance
