Is more popularly
known as informative speech. Its purpose
is to present facts and ideas, it expects
the audience to be able to understand and
hopefully remember the salient points of
the speech’s content.
EXPOSITORY/INFORMATIVE SPEECH
is one that
intends to convince listeners of
the speaker’s claim. The
speaker here takes a position
and he or she elaborates on
his/her position through
supportive arguments.
PERSUASIVE SPEECH
is one meant to lighten the
audience’s mood and uplift their spirit. Among three types of
speech, this is perhaps the most difficult to write and deliver.
ENTERTAINMENT SPEECH
is when a
speaker commits an entire
speech to memory.
MEMORIZED SPEECH
speaking is the
word-for-word iteration of a
written message. In a
manuscript speech, the
speaker maintains his or her
attention on the printed page
except when using visual
aids.
MANUSCRIPT SPEECH
is the presentation of a short message without an advance preparation
IMPROMPTU
is a limited- preparation speech event based on research and original analysis.
extemporaneous
answers the question on the main consideration in writing a speech
audience profile
the length of time it will take for a speech to be delivered, pauses included.
duration
refers to the writer’s organized flow of thoughts properly expressed in words, the said thoughts in correct sequence, usually endured with the aid of an outline, a web map. and the like
logical organization
pertains to knowledge and application of grammar rules, along with those on punctuation, mechanics, among others, and correct spelling of words
grammar
includes use of formal English and proper use of figures of speech like simile, metaphor , hyperbole, and personification to help effectively deliver the speech’s message
word choice
is the formation of clear and distinct sounds in speech
articulation
refers to variation in the strength, tone, or pitch of one’s voice
modulation
has to do with self projection and the image one manages to create with his or her efforts to make a good impression
stage presence
