Number of pregnancies that a woman has had, to any stage
Pregnancies resulting in delivery beyond 24 wks gestation

1 pregnancy before 24 wks
Total para = 3 even though you can write it as 2+1

Counted as one pregnancy so gravida and parity will stay the same regardless of length.
