TONE - Uterine atony
TRAUMA - Uterine laceration
TISSUE - Retained product of conception
THROMBIN - Pre-existing coagulopathy or bleeding diathesis.

A
- Surgical emergency cannot be excluded
- Lack of response to oral therapy
- Clinically severe disease
- Tubo-ovarian abscess
- Intolerance to oral therapy
- Pregnancy

A
HIGH RISK FACTORS
- Type 1 & 2 DM
- Autoimmune disease i.e SLE
- Chronic HTN
MODERATE FACTORS
- Age > 40
- First pregnancy
- Multiple pregnancy
- Obesity
- Family history of pre - eclampsia

When would you consider giving MGSO4 in patients with Pre-Eclampsia ?
A
Patient with severe pre-eclampsia and anyone of the following
- Ongoing severe headaches
- Visual scotomatas
- Nausea or vomiting
- Epigastric pain
- Oliguria
- Severe HTN
- Progressive decline in blood lab tests (HELLP syndrome)
