Making sure performer takes note of relevant cues
Make stimulus bright, loud and attractive to make it more memorable
Retention
Ability to remember important info and recall it from memory system
Breaking up info into chunks allows better recall
Use of role model or expert player ensures accurate demos
Motor production
Makes sure the player is capable of physically copying the demo
Player should be given time to practice and learn well before moving onto next part of task
Motivation
Drive needed to copy the demo
Use of praise, rewards, positive feedback and positive reinforcement
Model demos and behaviours are more likely to be copied if :
- performed by player of similar ability
- reinforced
- powerful, visually and physically
- consistent
- relevant
