What is Nystagmus?
A
Nystagmus refers to rapid, involuntary movements of the eyes. May be from side to side (horizontal nystagmus, up and down (vertical nystagmus) or rotary. The movements may be constant or only when the px is looking in a certain direction.

What is Nystagmus caused by?
A
An abnormal function in the areas of the brain that control eye movements. It can be congenital or may be acquired later in life as a result of injury or disease.

What are signs of Nystagmus?
A
Poor acuity usually not better than 20/50 because of inability to maintain constant fixation .
