obedience
is a form of social influence where an individual acts in response to a direct order from another individual, is usually an authority figure. It is assumed that without such an order the person would not have acted in this way.

where everyone agrees
normative influence
refers to a persons tendancy to go along with the group so that they will fit in and gain the approval of other group members
social loafing
is the tendancy of an individual to reduce their effort when working in a group, compared with when they are wokring alone
informational influence
when the participant wants to provide a correct response but is not certain of their ability to do so - believes that others are more capable of making accurate judgements
deindividuation
loss of identity that comes from being in a situation where individuals can’t be identified personally
individualist culture
individuality and independence are highly valued - important to achieve goals
collectivist culture
individual goals less important than group goals - needs of group more important than individual requirements
