What is the recommendation for treatment of LSIL in women
21-24?
24-29?
Women with LSIL
21-24: repeat cytology in one year
>24 if no HPV cotesting or HPV (+) do a colposcopy
What is the fundal height at
12 weeks?
at 20 weeks?
at 12 weeks the fundal height is at the pubic symphysis
at 20 weeks the fundal height is to the belly button
What is the most common vulvar cancer?
The most common vulvar cancer is squamous cell carcinoma
S/S white or red plaques that are friable. +/- puritis
tx: resection if caught early, chemo/radiation if late
HELLP Syndrome
Hemolysis
Elevated Liver Enzymes
Low Platelets
*Plan is to induce labor once mom is stabilized
*If mom has HTN, administer IV anti-hypertensives to bring BP <160/110 + magnesium sulfate
**If <37 weeks gestation, add betamethosone
What is the Bishop Score?
Bishop Score scores the cervix based on dilation, effacement, station, consistancy, and position.
unfavorable cervix 0-4. give misoprostol to ripen the cervix during induction of labor
What is the first stage of labor?
The first stage of labor is broken into the latent phase and the active phase
latent phase: 0-6 cm cervical dilation
active phase: 6-10 cm cervical dilation
what is the second stage of labor?
the second stage of labor is from
full cervical dilation to delivery of the baby
what is the third stage of labor?
The third stage of labor is from
delivery of the baby to expulsion of the placenta
this stage should not last more than 30 minutes
what is the 4th stage of labor?
the forth stage of labor is post partum maternal monitoring for one hour
What is considered protracted labor?
Normal cervical dilation during the active first stage of labor is faster than in the latent stage.
dilation should occur at >1.2 cm/hr in nulliparous women and
>1.5 cm/hr in multiparous women.
anything less than that is considered protracted labor.
