Cardiology Flashcards
ST elevation in leads V1-V3
with
ST depressions in leads I, II, and aVF
acute anteroseptal infarct
What are first line treatments for SVT?
vagal maneuvers and adenosine are first line treatments for SVT.
look for narrow QRS complex with a regular R-R interval.
*SVT commonly presents in a young woman with palpitations, weakness, or has a near syncopal episode.
What do the findings on this EKG indicate?
this EKG demonstrates ST depressions that are classically found in digoxin toxicity.
Other signs and symptoms of digoxin toxicity include:
yellow halos around lights
N/V, anorexia, abdominal pain
confustion
what is the most serious cardiac arrhythmia associated with hypomagnesemia?
Hypomagnesemia may cause a prolongation of the QT interval eventualy leading to
torsades de pontes
*other signs and symptoms associated with hypomagnesemia include: tetany, hyperreactive DTR, tremor.
**hypokalemia commonly co-exists with hypomagnesemia
