Define asthma,what is the management in DH?
Chronic inflammatory disease of the airways characterised by reversible airflow obstruction and bronchospasm triggered by hypersensitivity or various stimuli.
💊:bronchodilator (inhaled +/- steroid)
🦷:-prepare for asthmatic attack
-steroid inhalers may cause oral thrush(真菌)
-avoid mouth and throat irritation: >Rinse mouth after each puff but not swollen

-A kind of seasonal acute allergic condition affecting the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract and the eyes
-immune system overreact to develop immunoglobulin E, in response to harmless allergens,such as dust , pollen. Patient may get breathing problem ,running nose, mucus in throat.
What does steroid for?how does it affect the patient in dental treatment?
steroid:
-is for asthma,rheumatoid arthritis,eczema
-🦷:increase risk of infection due to decreased immune response,delayed healing,high blood pressure
What is jaundice?
not a disease but a sign of hepatitis,inflammation of the gall bladder
-refers to yellowish colour of the skin, sclera (white of the eyes)眼白
What is hepatitis and what are the cause?
Inflammation of hepatitis,
Cause:-idiopathic (fatty liver)
-local infection (viral infection)
-chemical /drug toxicity
-from an infection elsewhere in the body
What is the agent of hepatitis d?
Hepatitis D virus
How many forms of hepatitis b have?what are they?
Can divided into acute/chronic form:
-Acute form: last less than 6months,immune system is able to clear the virus and lead to full recovery,happen in adult,no need medical prescription ,can transmit HBV to other people before fully recover ,the incubation day is1-6months
-chronic form:more than 6months, body fail to clear the virus, no cure if it become CHB,can transmit to everybody , may lead to cirrhosis肝硬化(sir-roll-sis) and liver cancer
-prevention:hepatitis b vaccination
How can hepatitis b transmit?
-broken skin/mucosal membrane of eyes/ mouths
-reuse the unsterilised medical equipment
-using contaminated equipment for tattooing/ear-piercing/acupuncture
-share injection instruments for drug injection
-share personal items which may contaminated with blood such as toothbrush,shavers
-unprotected sexual contact
-contaminated blood products

an acute drop in blood pressure when try to stand after in a recumbent position for a while.
What the dental concerns of pregnancy women?
associated with gingival overgrowth /pregnancy gingivitis due to hormonal change which may increase inflammatory response to plaque
-consider to collect supine,sitting,standing BP

2nd trimester:safest time for elective dental treatment
