Role of nutrition professionals:
Dietitian: Asses, diagnose, treat dietary and nutritional problems
Registered nutritionist: Provides information and guidance about impact of nutrition on health and wellbeing
Nutritional therapist: Identify nutritional imbalances

Signposting is important because:

ATP is required for all cellular functions
Dietary reference values for energy and macronutrients:
Kcal requirement (females):
- 2175-1840
- Decreases from ages 19-75+
Kcal requirements (males):
- 2772-2294
- Decreases from ages 19-75+
% Daily food energy:
- 50%: Carbs (<5% are free sugars)
- <35%: Total fat (<11% sat fat)
EFAs and essential amino acids:
EFAs:
- Omega-6
- Omega-3
- Regulate immune system, CNS
Essential amino acids:
- 9/20 amino acids cannot be synthesised by the body
- Some can only need synthesised by EAA precursors
