How does Aaron intercede?
They murmur saying Moses killed the holy people of God.
He sends a plague and kills 14,700 before Aaron can burn incense and stop it.

After being placed in the Tabernacle it budded and yielded almonds.
How did the Levites pay tithing different from other tribes?
They were given the 1/10th from other tribes. They then took a tenth part of the tithe and gave it to the Lord by giving it to Aaron.

Hyssop - Cleansing herb
Scarlet - Color made by crushing worm from oak tree. represents blood which is the life giving substance

Balaam rode his donkey on the way to the Moabites and an angel stood in the way. Balaam couldn’t see the angel but the donkey could. 3 times the donkey refused to go past the angel and Balaam got incredibly upset. The angel revealed himself to Balaam and he apologizes.

They wanted a land of inheritance even though their father died without sons, as he was a descendant of Korah but was not part of their rebellion.
Moses received God’s answer that they inherit their father’s land. If there is no son or daughter then it goes to uncle and then kinsmen.

He would stand before Eleazar the high priest, who shall ask counsel for him after the judgment of Urim and Thummim before the Lord.

What did they agree to do to secure these lands?
Wanted the land of Jazer and Gilead for their multitude of cattle

What is the city of refuge for?
For people who committed inadvertent killing
What are the rules around inadvertent killing in Israel?
The person could be killed by one seeking revenge if they weren’t in a city of refuge. Once in a city of refuge they couldn’t be killed unless found guilty by the congregation of murder.
They had to stay in the Refuge city until the high priest died (basically symbolically dying for the killer). Then they could return to their own land.
Who did Israelite women have to marry after going into Canaan?
They had to marry within their tribe
