A

They have LOTS of types of grasses and very few trees.
Rains in SUMMER.
Only get enough rainfall for grasses to grow (not trees).
Gets hot in summer and cold in winter.

Describe Forest habitats.

A

Forest habitats have lots of TREES and small plants.
They get rain all year round.
It doesn’t get very hot or very cold.
There are MANY birds.
Smaller animals also live in forests.
Forests are good places to hide from predators.

River habitats have FRESH water.
The TEMPERATURE of the water does not change much.
Plants grow in the water and on riverbanks.

Some animals live IN the water = fish, water snails and tadpoles.

Some animals live in the area SURROUNDING the rive = frogs and many types of birds.

Some animals live ABOVE the water = ducks and insects.
