Age Classifications
- NEWBORN: Born that day.
- SMALL INFANT: Less than 3 months old.
- LARGE INFANT: 3-12 months old.
- SMALL CHILD: 1 to 4 years old.
- MEDIUM CHILD: 5 to 11 years old
- Adolescent 12-15 years old
Weight Classifications
- NEWBORN: 3.5kg
- 3 months old: 6kg
- 6 months old: 8kg
- 1-9yrs: (Age X 2) + 8
- 10-11yrs: (Age X 3.3)
- 12-15 yrs 40,50,60
Normal Values (Vital Signs)
Abnormal values = mandates hospital 30 RR sits in the normal for all children as a starting point for ventilations 6-7ml/kg when unsure where to start

List the 4 points of Work of breathing (Assessment triangle)
- Abnormal breath sounds
- Abnormal positioning
- Retractions
- Nasal flaring
List the 3 points of circulation (Assessment triangle)
- Pallor
- Mottling
- Cyanosis
Common signs of illness in paeds
- Feeding less than half of their normal oral intake in 24hrs
- Lethargy/less responsiveness than usual
- Less active than normal
- Less than 4 wet nappies in 24hrs
- Pale and hot skin
- Laboured breathing
- Vomiting bile-stained fluid
