Hypo/Hyperthermia

Hypothermia 3 STAGES

Answer 1

Mild = 32-35 degrees - pt may be vague, altered GCS, tachycardic, tachypnoeic, pale
Moderate = 28-32 degrees - pt will be altered GCS, poor coordination, peripherally cyanosed 
Severe = <28 degrees - significantly altered GCS, poor muscle coordination, bradycardia, bradypnoeic, tachyarrythmias

Management for Hypo/Hyperthermia

• Oxygen
• Consider MICA
• Shelter from heat or cold
• Remove wet clothing or add clothing to warm
