Alcohol, anti anxiety, antineoplastic, anticoagulants, anticonvulsants
What MOA are some of the antineopalstic agents?
Anti folic acid agents and can be lethal
Big difference between Coumadin and heparin as far as being teratogenic?
Coumadin crosses the placenta and heparin does not
What are 3 anticonvulsants that are teratogenic?
Dilantin, valproic acid, and carbamazepine.
3 other misc. drugs that are teratogenic?
Tobacco smoke, illicit drugs, and retinoids.
Besides drugs, what are two other groups of teratogenic agents?
Infections and radiation

Screen for gestational diabetes and hemoglobin/hct, RhoGAM shot if needed and Tdap.

What is normal kick counting for fetal movement?
10 movements in 2 hours
What result is normal in the nonstress test?
Reactive 2 accelerations of at least 15 beats above baseline lasting at least 15 seconds during a 20 minute time of monitoring
What is a positive contraction test and what do we do?
Give oxytocin to get 3 contractions within a ten minute period. If HR goes down with contractions test is positive and deliver.
