nonviolence is the natural, higher, spiritual law, resistance with the whole soul based on refusal to do any harm, requires sacrifice of everything except honour, daily practice, summit of bravery, impossible without humility and faith

nonviolence direct action creates pressure to uncover injustices and open negotiations, provides opportunity to fully address issues and enact change, civil disobedience is sometimes required to fulfil moral obligations (disobedience of unjust laws) but never violence
