Q

Sawatsky: Healing Justice

A

victims shouldn’t be reduced to the crime committed against them and treated as evidence, restorative justice only partly challenges the logic of punishment by relying on processes and individual problems referred by CJ systems (unable to make wider, systemic change), logic of CJ: states and institutions, rules and processes (conflict res), problem-responsiveness, nouns, individual autonomy, and punishment and violence; logic of HJ: creator and creation, transforming patterns (conflict trans), cultivating loving-kindness, regaining humanity and identity, interdependent relationships, and healing for all
