The transfer of information by means other than words (gaze, facial expression, posture, touch). Approx 60-65% of communication is non verbal

Gestures that replace or stand in for spoken language (eg shoulder shrug, up yours signal, shaking your head)

Non verbals that help complement or clarify the meaning of the words (moving your hands when speaking)
