Non Strabismic Anomalies Of Bino Vision Flashcards
A TENDency of eyes to turn inward which is manifested on only when fusion is broken
Esophoria
Exhibits esp at near
Convergence excess
More eso is measured at far than at near
Divergence insufficiency
A TENDency of the eyes to turn outward which is manifested only when fusion is broken produces sleepiness lack of comprehension
Exophoria
Greater exo at near than at distance
Usually symptomatic easy to treat
VT lots of oculor moto vino accom.peripheral and localization
Convergence insufficiency
More exo is measured at far than near
- when not focused when daydream
More difficult to treat
Divergence Excess
TENDency of one eye to aim higher than other
Hypertropia
TENDency of one eye to aim lower than other
Hypophoria
Common binocular vision disorder in which the eyes do not work at near easily eye learning problem in which the eyes have a strong tendency to drift outward when reading or doing close work
Symptoms include eye strain, ha, diplopia, reading issues trouble concentrating, avoiding near work, poor sports performance, dizziness, more exo at near than far
Convergence insufficiency
Over converges at near
Convergence excess
More eso at far than near
Divergence insufficiency
More eso at far than near
Divergence insufficiency
More exo at far than near
Divergence excess
The inability to perceive a normal visual object in all or part of the field of vision of one eye occuring only on simultaneous stim of both eyes and attributed to cortical inhibition gaba inhibitory interneurons reduce the activity of other neurons in the cortec
Suppression
