Non-Normal Maneuvers Flashcards
Approach to stall or stall recovery
- INITIATE RECOVERY: Disconnect autopilot and auto throttle. Smoothly apply nose down*trim my be needed. -CONTINUE RECOVERY Roll wings level. Advance thrust levers as needed. Retract speedbrakes. Do not change gear or flap configuration. ** except during lift off if flap up call flaps 1. - COMPLETE RECOVERY Check airspeed adjust thrust as needed. Establish pitch attitude Return to desired flight path Re-engage A/P and A/T
GPWS Warning
- Disconnect A/P
- Disconnect A/T
- Aggressively apply max thrust
- Simultaneously roll wings level and rotate to initial pitch attitude of 20.
- Retract speedbreaks
- If needed continue rotation to the PLI
- Do not change gear or flaps configuration
- Monitor RA
- Clear of terrain slowly decrease pitch
Traffic avoidance
Disengage A/P and A/T, smoothly adjust pitch and thrust to satisfy the RA command.
Attempt to stab Lish visual contact, call out any conflicting traffic.
FOR RA IN LANDING CONFIGURATION:
-Disengage A/P and A/T, advanced thrust levers to maximum thrust and call FLAPS 15, smoothly adjust pitch to satisfy the RA command.
Positive rate of climb call GEAR UP
** a descend RA below 1000ft AGL should not be followed**
Upset recover - nose high
- Disconnect A/P and A/T
- Nose down elevator
- Nose down trim
- Reduce thrust
- Adjust roll to obtain nose down pitch rate
- When approaching the horizon wings level
- Check airspeed adjust thrust
- Establish pitch attitude
Upset recovery- Nose Low
-Disconnect A/P and A/T
-Recover from stall if required
-Wings level in the shortest direction
-Recover to level flight:
Nose up elevator
Nose up trim
Adjust thrust and drag as required
Winshear
MANUAL
- Disconnect A/P
- Press either TO/GA switch
- Aggressively apply maximum thrust
- Disconnect A/T
- Simultaneously wings level and rotate 15
- Retract speedbreaks
- Follow FD TO/GA guidance
AUTOMATIC • Press either TO/GA switch. • Verify TO/GA mode annunciation. • Verify GA thrust. • Retract speedbrakes. • Monitor system performance
MANUAL OR AUTOMATIC FLIGHT
• Do not change flap or gear configuration.
• Monitor vertical speed and altitude.
• Do not attempt to regain lost airspeed.
Rejected take off
- Simultaneously close trust levers, disengage A/T and apply maximum manual break or verify RTO operation.
- Raise speed breaks lever.
- Apply maximum reverse thrust.
- continue maximum breaking until certain the airplane will stop on the runway.
- Field permitting- revers idle detent by taxi speed.
Engine out during cruise
- Disconnect autothrottle
- Select CON thrust in FMC
- Manually set limit thrust
*Select ENG OUT CRZ
• Set engine out altitude and airspeed on MCP
• Slow to ENG OUT airspeed
•Select LVL CHG
- Notify ATC
- Initiate turn with HDG SEL (if required)
• Non normal checklist
- Maintain CON
- Accelerate to single engine long range cruise speed
- Determine course of action
