Q

the greater the strength of magnetic field

A

the greater the energy gap between spin state. the smaller the frequency of radio photons that are needed to to excite transition

13
Q

why do electrons shield?

A

The electrons that surround the nucleus are in motion so they created their own electromagnetic field. This field opposes the the applied magnetic field and so reduces the field experienced by the nucleus.
