1. Horrible effects on its victims - filled the lungs with fluid, burned eye and blinded
2. Gases could kill within hours
3. Some gas was invisible which meant the enemy would not know its there so would not move away from it to get to safety
4. Lots was needed for it to be effective
5. Blow back - if the wind was blowing in the wrong direction it would attack their own soldiers
6. The enemy could wear gas masks which would prevent men from being attacked by the gas

1. The men inside were protected whilst using the machine gun on the tank
2. Could go through barbed wires and across trenches
3. Could travel across No-Mans land easily due to its caterpillar tracks
4. Crew could become sick due to the petrol fumes
5. Early tanks often broke down
6. It could get stuck in the mud

1. Limited on how far they could fly due to fuel
2. As it was newly developed it took a while to discover how best to use them
3. Used for spying and coming up with tactics
4. Used to drop bombs later on in the war
5. Used alongside tanks to achieve a breakthrough
6. Could only be used by those in the army that were trained as pilots
