myasthenia gravis
AntiJo1, heliotropic rash, gottrons papules, elevated CK, weakness
dermatomyositis
weakness, associated with scleroderma, sjogrens and lupus, ILD, CD8 elevation in muscle biopsy. Treated with steroids and IVIG
polymyositis.
wrist drop due to weakness, minimal sensory loss to dorsal hand and wrist. Due to compression along the spiral groove of the humerus
radial nerve palsy
prayer and tinel sign

acute demyelinating polyneuroapthy, associated post-infection, respiratory failure, bulbar weakness, areflexia, proximal pain, treatment is IVIG
guillan barre syndrome
subacute onset of malfunction in multiple peripheral nerves due to damage to vessels supplying the peripheral nerces. associated with ct diseases like polyarteritis nodosa, eGPA, GPA, cryoglobulinemia, SLE, sjogrens etc. Symptoms are patchy/assymtetric, distal> proximal pain.
mononeuritis mulitplex
duplication of PMP22 gene, distal weakness, chapagne bottle lefs, interosseous wasting, hammertoes
charcot marie tooth, a fereditary demyelinating neuropathy.
autosomal dominant CAG repeats with chorea, leading to ballism.
huntingtons chorea
alpha-synuclein accumulats in the lewy bodies–> neurotoxicity of substania nigra –> loss of DA neurons. leads to brady kineseia, rigidity, tremor, or postural instability. Also associated with neuropsychiatric symptoms including weird dreams, dementia (lewy body demensia)
