a stroke is caused when there’s a blockage of blood to the brain
it can cause part of the brain to die
why is damage from a stroke not always permanent
‘the brain is like plastic’ and can reorganise itself so that it reduces the effects and different parts of the brain take over different functions

what happens if these areas are damaged

what happens if Brocca’s area is damaged?
problems in producing speech
what happens if Wernicke’s area is damaged?
problems in understanding speech, reading and writing is also affected
