Location: pontomedullary region

Location: Pontomedullary region
Nerve: sensory <- taste
motor ->facial expression, eye closing, salivation, lacrimation
VIII. vestibulococchlear

Location: pontomedullary region
Nerve: sensory
Function:balance and hearing
IX. Glossopharyngeal
Location: medulla oblongata
Nerve: sensory <– taste/sensation, pharynx, chemo baroreceptors
motor –> swallowing, salivation
X. Vagus
Location: Medulla oblongata
Nerve: sensory <– ear skin, pharynx, larynx thorax, abdomen, taste/sensation epiglottis
Motor–> swallow, speech, cough, autonomic (parasympathetic), decrease heart rate, increase GI motility, sweating

XI. Accessory (Spinal)
Location: Medulla oblongata, c-sspine cord
Nerve: Motor
Function:shoulder shrug, head turning
