Q

Explain the Patho:

A

Vasomotor control center is defected or injured –> sympatheic output to vessels is impaired –> loss of vessel tone –> vasolidation –> hypoperfusion

Q

Why is there not reflex tachycardia when hypotension is occuring?

A

Because the sympatheic system is affected in this situation. In order for the HR to increase, it requires sympatheic stimulation.
