Tumor of peripheral nerves caused by abnormal proliferation of Schwann cells.

Genetic mutation of NF1 Gene.
What is neurofibromatosis?
A genetic disease caused by a mutation in a gene responsible for a protein that regulates nerve tissue growth and can be inherited.

They appear as one or more lumps on or under the skin.
