- Epileptic disorder
- Hypoglycemia
- Intracranial haemorrhage: stroke, bleed, thrombosis, trauma
- Masses
- Metabolic disorders: Ca, Na, hypoxia
- Toxins: withdrawal, ingested
- Encephalopathy (uremic, hepatic)
- Hydrocephalus
- Vasculitides

What are complex febrile convulsions?
A
- Focal signs
- Prolonged post ictal phase
- Multiple episodes in same febrile illness
- Longer 15min

Why is cefotaxime preferred in neonates? (cf ceftriaxnoe)
