Need baseline to identify changes Ask: - past neuro illness - hx of fainting or seizures - changes in hearing, vision, smell - change in balance and coordination - changes in memory

Assess:
- ability to perceive various sensations
- sense of position (kinesthesia)
- ability to discriminate fine touch
- bilateral symmetry/size of muscles/muscle tone
- for tremors

Cerebellar function
A
Assess:
- gait
- for Brudzinski sign
- for Kernig sign
- Romberg test
- for abnormal postures in unconscious clients
