SMOOTH MUSCLE TUMOR: LEIOMYOMA

  • Unencapsulated, intradermal tumor
  • Interlacing and sometimes whorled bundles of smooth muscle cells
  • Eosinophilic cytoplasm with blunt nuclear ends (cigar shaped)
  • Special stain: Trichrome (red)
  • IHC: Desmin
