What does the femoral and popliteal arteries supply?

Which nerve is these two a branch of?

A

Supplies:

  • Ant, post, med M comp of thigh (= all comp!)
  • Hip & knee jt

External iliac artery –> Femoral artery (+deep artery of thigh) –> Popliteal artery which splits into ant tib (-> dorsalis pedis) + post tib (Med & lat plantar arteries)

22
Q

Branch of post tib artery -> fibular artery

A

Fibular artery descneds within FHL (Harry) on MED side of fibular

Supplies: M in post & lat comp of leg.

23
Q

What is the difference between a dermatome, myotome & cutaneous innervation?

A

Dermatome: Area of skin supplied by a single spinal cord level or on one side, by a single spinal nerve.

Cutaneous innervation: Area of skin supplies by a spesific peripheral n!

Myotome:

  • Proportion of skeletal M innervated by a single spinal cord level or on one side y a single spinal nerve-
