Nerves, arteries & veins Flashcards
Femoral triangle-boundaries:
SUP: inguinal lig attached between ASIS and pubic tibercle LAT: Sartorius MED: Adductor longus
Boundaries of of popliteal fossa?
Superomed: Semitendinosus & Semimembranosus Superolat: Biceps femoris Inferomed: Med head of gastroc Inferolat: Lat head of gastroc NOTE: popliteal artery is the deepest structure in the fossa and descends from the upper med side. The fossa also contain popliteal vein and sciatic nerve plus its two terminal branches; tibial and common fibular nerve.
Which major nerves originate from the lumbosacral plexus and leave the abdomen and pelvis to enter the lower limb?
Femoral nerve Obturator nerve Sciatic Sup gluteal Inf gluteal Lat fem cutaneous Post cutaneous
Where are the cell bodies of sensory neurons?
Cell bodies of sensory neurons are in the DORSAL ROOT ganglion
Where are the cel bodies of MOTOR neurons?
Cell bodies of motor neuroins are in the VENTRAL or LATERAL HORNS of the spinal cord (depending if its SNS or ANS)
What is the ventral rami level of: - Lumbar plexus - Lumbosacral trunk - Sacral plexus
Ventral rami level of: - Lumbar plexus = L1-L4 - Lumbosacral trunk = L4-L5 - Sacral plexus = S1- S4
Which nerves originate from the lumbar plexus?
