Define neoplasia

A

abnormal tissue formation, whose growth exceeds and is un-coordinated as compared to noral tissue and which remains like that despite removal of the stimulus provoking the change

modern definition: a neoplastic cell has expanded clonally as a result of somatic mutations or other genetic alteration.
