What is the management of jaundice?

A

If develops in 24+ hours, measure sbr within 6 hrs

If noticed in less than 24 hours measure SBR within 2 hours + medical review

Tests that may be used for detecting the underlying cause of jaundice

A

SBR, Maternal blood group, babys blood group, direct antiglobulin test (coombs) and elution test full blood examination : looking for hamolysis, unusually shaped red bloodcells,evidence of infection, C-reactive protein CRP.
