Upper Leg, Hip
Where do you needle subcutaneous?
Over bone
Where do you needle oblique?
Over ribs, over internal organs
How do you needle on the head?
Shallow insertion, 0.3-0.5” subcutaneously
How do you needle on the face?
Shallow insertion, 0.3-0.5” perpendicularly (ST or in front of ear) or subcutaneously (GB, SJ)
How do you needle on the neck?
Shallow insertion, 0.3-0.5” perpendicularly
How do you needle upper torso (rib cage)?
Shallow insertion, 0.3-0.5” oblique
LU 1 = 0.5-0.8” oblique
How do you needle midsection (just below ribcage)?
Medium depth, 0.5-1.0” perpendicular
How do you needle the abdomen?
Medium depth: KD = 0.5-1.0” perpendicular
Deep depth: ST 25, SP 15, Ren 4, 6, 7 = 0.8-1.2” perpendicular
How do you needle lower abdomen?
Medium depth: Ren 2, 3 = 0.5 - 1.0” perpendicular
How do you needle upper back?
Rib Cage: 0.5 - 0.7” oblique (UB)
Shoulder Blade: 0.5 - 1.0” perpendicular
How do you needle back below the ribs?
(including lower back, sacrum)
0.8 - 1.2” perpendicular
How do you needle upper/lower arm?
0.5 - 1.0” perpendicular (He Sea points can go deeper)
