Vertebral Curves
Cervical and lumbar regions.
Concave
Thoracic and sacral spine.
Convex
Abnormal lateral curve of more than 10 degrees.
Scollosis
Exaggerated thoracic curve. (Hump-back)
Kyphosis
Accentuated lumbar curve. (Sway-back)
Lordosis
Articulation between the superior articular process of the vertebrae below with the inferior articular process of the vertebrae above.
AKA
Extends from the 7th cervical vertebrae to the sacrum posteriorly along the tips of the spinous processes.
Supraspinal Ligament
To vertebral body and intervertebral disks. Prevents hyperextension.
Anterior Longitudinal Ligament
Only to the intervertebral disks. Prevents hyperflexion.
Posterior Longitudinal Ligament
Connect adjacent laminae.
Ligamentum Flavum
Becomes the supra spinal ligament in the cervical ligament.
Nuchal Ligament
Longus Colli, Longus Capitis, Rectus Capitis Anterior.
Deep Neck Flexors
Prevertebral Group, Subocciptial Group
