What is infective endocarditis?

A

Inflammation of the inner lining of the heart. Mainly the chambers and valves. The valves often don’t work properly, which creates a murmur and causes the heart to non function effectively leading to poor oxygenation

A

Fever, low oxygen, clubbing and petechia in fingers and mucus membranes, fluid in lungs, chest pain, non productive cough

Embolic CVA due to clots
