A

Hitler ported himself as a God-like figure who did no wrong. The myth created made people willing to sacrifice when asked by Hitler.

A
  • as early as the 1920’s simple slogans like ‘One people, One Reich, One Führer’ was implemented along with images of Jews as ugly, hooked-nose creatures
  • they made sure hitlers appointment as chancellor was covered by a Nazi. They covered his appointment in glory, thus allowing public to perceive the appointment as popular

What was the peoples receiver and how did it help the nazis

A

Nazis made sure it was the cheapest and most popular radio. In 1939, over 70 percent of the population owned a radio; by 1943. one-third of all radios were People’s Receivers. These had a limited range and, unless the owner lived close to the German border, they could not pick up foreign radio stations.

A

From 1933 on, Nazi propaganda manipulated the news and other information to inform public that Nazi policies were working, or that Nazi prejudices were right. For example, Nazi propaganda told people that Jewish people were greedy, dirty, subhumans.

  • mothers were rewarded with medals for having babies. A 1000 mark loan marriage was reduced by 250 for each child (thus 4 kids cleared the loan). Also had access to vitamins and regular checks while pregnant.

A
  • Germans were initially lukewarm about going to war, but many changed their mind when the German army started to sweep through Europe and the East. The ‘Führer myth’ kept support going even when the Nazis made the mistake of invading the USSR and began to struggle to keep advancing.
