Microtrauma = injury from over use Macrotrauma = traumatic injury

Initial X-ray

Shoulder - because it allows greater range of movement

Grade 1: ligament fibres are stretched but normal range of stretch upon stressing
Grade 2: not completely ruptured but movement on stressing with definite end point
Grade 3: complete rupture with no definite end point
