De-aerates, heats, and pumps condensate from hotwell to feedwater system

Raise condensate pressure and discharge to the Low pressure feedwater heaters

Describe the path of condensate through the condensate?
From LP to IP to HP, then back to the IP condenser hotwell for condensate pump suction.
What’s the purpose of the false bottom of the condenser?
Allow time for N^16 gamma to decay to keep dose rates low in turbine and to keep condensate heated for efficiency

Recircs from condensate discharge header to high pressure condenser. Allows for 1.4 mlbm/hr
What’s the purpose of the vacuum breakers?
Break vacuum in condenser when plant is shut down
How do the vacuum breakers eliminate the possibility of air leakage into condenser?
A column of water is used as a seal above the valve
