M. pneumoniae

A

Acute, self-limited LRT infections, affecting mostly children and young adults
Can also cause pharyngitis and otitis media
Transmission: aerosols
Initiates infection by attaching to glycolipid on the surface of the respiratory epithelium.
Patchy consolidation of a single segment of a lower lung lobe. Interstitial process
**Stevens-Johnson Syndrome- complication
