What is a rangefinder camera?
A rangefinder camera is a camera fitted with a rangefinder, typically a split-image rangefinder: a range-finding focusing mechanism allowing the photographer to measure the subject distance and take photographs that are in sharp focus. Most varieties of rangefinder show two images of the same subject, one of which moves when a calibrated wheel is turned; when the two images coincide and fuse into one, the distance can be read off the wheel

What is a mirrorless camera?
A mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera (MILC) or simply mirrorless camera, also called digital single lens mirrorless (DSLM), is a photo camera featuring a single, removable lens and a digital display. The camera does not have a reflex mirror or optical viewfinder like a digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) camera.[1]
How does a camera work?
A camera lens takes all the light rays bouncing around and uses glass to redirect them to a single point, creating a sharp image. … When all of those light rays meet back together on a digital camera sensor or a piece of film, they create a sharp image.
What is a “focus puller”?
A focus puller or first assistant camera (1st AC) is a member of a film crew’s camera department whose primary responsibility is to maintain the camera lens’s optical focus on whatever subject or action is being filmed.

What is single point focus?
Single-point AF gives you pin-point accuracy, allowing you to select just one AF point. This means you can tell the camera precisely where you want it to focus. It’s more suitable for stationary or slow-moving subjects, as it’s difficult to keep it aligned with something moving quickly.
What is the rule of DOD
The first rule for understanding aperture and depth of field is very simple: the larger the aperture, the shallower your depth of field will be, meaning a smaller portion of your image will be in focus. The smaller the aperture, the deeper your depth of field will be, resulting in more of your image being
What is depth of field?
It is NOT the area in focus
It is the area the area that is NOT in focus
Bokeh for portrait - shallow depth of field
Infinity for landscape - long depth of field
What three factors effect depth of field?
Aperture
Focal length
Distance of focus point
How does focal length impact photos?
Subjects appear larger using long focal length lenses than they do viewing them with our eyes. On the other hand, lenses with short focal lengths take in a much wider angle of view. Thus, elements seem much smaller in the frame than they do to our eye.
What is focal length?
Focal length is s calculation of an optical distance from the point where light rays converge to form a sharp image of an object to the digital sensor or 35mm film at the focal plane in the camera. The focal length of a lens is determined when the lens is focused at infinity.
What does focal length tell us?
Lens focal length tells us the angle of view—how much of the scene will be captured—and the magnification—how large individual elements will be. The longer the focal length, the narrower the angle of view and the higher the magnification. The shorter the focal length, the wider the angle of view and the lower the magnification.
