Mx. Emman's Lecture Flashcards
A process of measuring psychology-related variables using devices or procedures designed to obtain a sample of behavior
Psych Testing
A process of gathering and integrating psychology-related data to make a psychological evaluation that is accomplished through the
use of tools (e.g., tests, interviews, observation)
Psych Assessment
Answers the referral questions. Something to do with the PRACTICAL APPLICATION.
Psych Assessment
A device or procedure designed to measure variables related to psychology (e.g., BDI, MMPI)
Psychological Test –
This is the form, plan, structure, arrangement, and layout of test items as
well as time limits (mahirap, madali, etc)
Format
_____ in which a test is administered: computerized, pencil-and-paper, or some other form
Form
– a code or summary statement
o Usually but not necessarily numerical in nature
o Reflects an evaluation of performance on a test, task, interview, or some other samples of behavior
score
A process of gathering through direct communication involving reciprocal exchange.
Interview
A type of interview where more than one interviewer participates in the personnel assessment
Any idiosyncratic biases of a lone interviewer will be minimized by the use of two or more interviewers (to avoid biases of interviewer)
Panel Interview
This tool for assessment is concerned with the outputs / work of an individual
Portfolio
Minor and major decisions may be made from this assessment
Should be used in conjunction with other assessment tools (not relying on one assessment tool, prepare a battery of tests)
Some have argued, for example, that the best evaluation of a student’s writing skills can be accomplished not by the administration of a test but by asking the student to compile a selection of writing samples
Portfolio
– “taga-gawa”, create tests or other methods of assessment.
* For specific research study
* To modify / refine existing tests
Test developer
“gumagamit / taga-gamit”. Utilize various tests and assessment
methodologies for different purposes
Test User
Psychiatrists CANNOT use _______ unless they are registered psychologists
psychological tests
– “pinaggagamitan”, those who take the test. May vary on different variables.
