Q

How does nondisjunction happen?

A

It happens during meiosis 1 or 2 in anaphase. One more chromosome is dragged to one cell, while another doesn’t get one.

Q

What is the outcome of nondisjunction during meiosis 1?

A

You get two double haploid cells 2(n+1 and n-1). It will later result in gametes with two of them having n+1 and two having n+1.

Q

What is the outcome of nondisjunction during meiosis 2?
